Slow Medicine: A Breathwork Experience

  • Slow Medicine 101-250 Carlaw Avenue Toronto, ON Canada (map)

As winter loosens its grip and the first signs of spring begin to appear, something within us starts to stir. The thaw we witness around us in the natural world also opens up in our bodies, our breath, and our nervous systems. Throughout the colder months, many of us move into subtle states of contraction: holding, bracing, numbing, or “freezing” in response to stress, overwhelm, or simply the pace of life. These patterns are intelligent and protect us. But as the seasons shift, the opportunity to gently soften those defences and return to a state of flow arrives.

The Thaw is a guided breathwork experience designed to support this potent transition. Through intentional breathing, somatic awareness, and nervous system recalibration, we’ll explore what it feels like to melt out of stagnation and reconnect with warmth, sensation, and aliveness.

In this workshop, you’ll be guided to:

- Notice where your body may be holding or “frozen”

- Create safety for your nervous system to begin releasing tension

- Reawaken breath, sensation, and emotional movement

- Gently shift from contraction into expansion

Come as you are, whether you feel shut down, stuck, or simply curious about what’s ready to emerge in this next season. This is a space to soften, to feel, and to thaw.
